We have been working closely with the DDR Museum in Berlin for over a decade. During this time, a large number of installations and projects have been created - always in the field of tension between historical accuracy, technical innovation and playful mediation. The DDR Museum was and is a pioneer in the field of interactive exhibition concepts in history museums - and a loyal and inspiring partner for us. Our long-standing collaboration includes the continuous co-development and implementation of installations, games and educational formats. With our work, we follow the museum's claim to offer “hands-on history” and underline this approach with every new development.
A particular focus of our work is the co-development of digital installations within the permanent exhibition. Recent examples include an installation on the newspaper landscape of the GDR, in which visitors navigate through a high-resolution digital newspaper scan and thus access content from the history of the GDR press. The display takes up the infinite form of a newspaper in print and relates to the content of the accompanying exhibits in the room. This work is complemented by a further installation on the world of GDR illustrated magazines, which takes up historical titles, designs and themes and translates them into an interactive, narrative form.
