Political and cultural education as an entertaining board game
RÄTSELRÄUME is an escape room board game for groups and school classes. Players immerse themselves in the stories of various residents of a house. Each apartment has its own challenges and puzzles. There is a lot to discover, including fictional but realistic family stories that refer to social challenges.
The game is primarily aimed at secondary school pupils and is suitable for use in the subjects of history, social studies, politics and ethics. Based on the curriculum, the game raises awareness of socially relevant topics such as diversity, tolerance, respect and migration. The additional accompanying material offers various approaches to deepening and reflecting on the topics of Jewish life, migration, queer life, poverty, flight and asylum as well as right-wing violence. This offers teachers the opportunity, especially now in times of increasing social division, to effectively promote critical thinking and understanding for the living environments of others and to integrate them into lessons in a low-threshold manner.
