RE:think Header. Interaktive App für Jugendliche zum Umgang mit Rassismus und Antisemitismus

RE:think – Digital Learning Lab

Interactive app for young people on dealing with racism and anti-semitism

Since 2018, Frankfurt has been home to the learning lab “Anne Frank. More tomorrow.”, an interactive exhibition. The RE:think app – the digital learning lab of the Anne Frank Educational Center – is the virtual further development of individual stations in this exhibition, making it accessible to people nationwide.

The app offers intuitive mini-games on the topics of anti-Semitism, racism, hate speech, and conspiracy myths. Virtual characters, known from the successful Chat-App Hidden Codes, guide users through the games and contextualize the content. The app is available free of charge (only in German!) in all popular app stores and can be used without logging in.

An app for teaching?

RE:think is particularly suitable for use in school lessons, but can also be understood and played intuitively without educational support.

The app is primarily aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 16 (grades 7-10), but also at educational professionals as multipliers and other interested parties of all ages.

For educators, the Anne Frank Educational Center will offer accompanying material for the app starting at the end of 2025—with instructions, suggestions, and ideas for use in the classroom.

The idea behind the game is to create a space for self-reflection in which students can engage in conversation. […] This is also the idea behind the learning lab, where participants can reflect together and break out of their own pigeonholes. (Hami Nguyen, Anne Frank Educational Center, in an interview with WDR about the Re:think app; interview in German)

Die App ist kostenfrei in allen gängigen App-Stores zu finden: Apple App Store, Google Play Store.
