Global trade in raw materials communicated in an easily understandable way

The interactive exhibition game “Raw materials, regions, wealth. An unfair game?” immerses students in the fascinating and often unequal world of global commodity trading and shows how different the starting conditions of the regions are - an exciting mix of social policy, strategy and responsibility!

The analog-digital game was specially designed for school classes in grades 7 to 10, but is also suitable for other age groups. The aim is to playfully illustrate to pupils the unequal starting conditions in different regions and the complex decision-making processes in global trade. The game is designed to promote critical thinking and raise awareness of the effects of global trade structures. In each round, coincidences and strategic decisions determine the course of the game: Which region will receive aid after an earthquake? Who can secure new sources of raw materials? Coordination between rounds constantly brings new twists to the game and changes the conditions for everyone involved.

Unique analog-digital gaming experience in the museum

It is fascinating to see how the students play along with enthusiasm and great commitment, developing strategies and learning valuable lessons about social justice and international relations. The interactive exhibition has proven to be a successful tool for communicating complex issues in a tangible and experiential way.

From today, teachers and interested groups can book a visit to the interactive exhibition at the Zeche Nachtigall
