GET THE PASSPORT allows visitors to experience the process of obtaining Swiss citizenship in a playful way. The installation lets the players literally enter the bureaucratic labyrinth on the way to the Swiss passport. Not everyone has to overcome the same hurdles. And so there are four different paths through the forest of signs.
No matter what the charge, every person has the right to defend themselves in court. The installation OBJECTION shows this. It confronts visitors with a criminal offense and lets them live through the criminal process. The task is to object at the right time.
DARE I SAY focuses on freedom of expression according to Articles 16-17 of the Federal Constitution. Visitors ask themselves various questions: Where am I allowed to publicly criticize the head of state? Where can I stand up for homosexuality or climate protection? And where not? In the process, it becomes playfully apparent that the limits of what can be said vary greatly from country to country.
The playful installation UNDER SURVEILLANCE deals with the protection of privacy according to Article 13 of the Federal Constitution. Visitors learn what data may be collected by various institutions about individual citizens.
The scenography of the colorful exhibition was undertaken by Rappaport Szenographie Architektur.
Multilingualism and inclusion
Where text is not needed, text is omitted. Otherwise, all texts are translated and integrated in four languages: English, German, Italian and French.
Furthermore, the playful installations in the museum are designed in such a way that they can be used by visitors of different heights and also by people with mobility disabilities. Control panels (buzzers, touchscreens) are placed accordingly. For individual installations, there are additional iPad versions that visitors can play on site.
